Award-winning sci-fi short film THE BOOGEYS takes place in a future in which enigmatic aliens are now occupying the earth. The world is now filled with cities possessing strange dichotomies of futuristic skyscrapers looming over boroughs of shantytowns where humans eke out a meager existence..

In one such city, viewers are introduced to Dawkins (Andrew Troy), a former, down-on-his-luck, law enforcement officer who reluctantly agrees to help a desperate father (Trip Hope) track down his missing son.

After interrogating some of the eccentric inhabitants of his city’s borough, Dawkins’ investigation leads him into a direct confrontation with the mysterious alien “Boogeys” and their mysterious agenda.

Written and directed by Sanjay F. Sharma, THE BOOGEYS, drops viewers into a vividly-imagined, highly-realized world where the power elite almost revere the aliens as divine and constantly inundate the rest of the human population with their propaganda.

Away from the shining spires of sleek technology, humans subsisting at the street level know the alien’s plans are not at all benevolent, which makes for a powder keg ready to explode.

Writer-director Sharma brings his fascinating narrative to life by means of exceptional production value, including a sterling cast most notably featuring Doug Jones (Star Trek: Discovery, Falling Skies) who has made a career from portraying all kinds of mythical, paranormal, and extraterrestrial beings - often requiring him to be covered in full-body prosthetics and special creature makeup.

While the cast, costumes, set designs, and visual effects are all outstanding, it is the design of the alien “Boogeys” which decidedly elevates this short film to cinematic heights.

Trust, you haven’t seen anything quite like these aliens. In fact, the film has attained widespread acclaim and awards for its special creature makeup and visual effects alone.
